Eat, drink, (garden, knit, quilt, think, fix, read) & be merry

We were given P’s family’s heirloom spinning wheel as a wedding present.  It’s old, beautiful and a little intimidating.  It’s been used a decoration for ages, but I want to learn to spin on it.

I tried several times but was only moderately successful.  I decided to start with the more accessible spindle.  Over the past year I’ve worked on it a little here and there.  I got this book I’ve finally decided to spin enough yarn to make something. Here are the first two ounces.  Cool!

This is very exciting! What do you hope to make first with your spun yarn?
